Political Pixel site launch, VO.TE4.ME, & more

We figured now was as good a time as any to officially launch PoliticalPixel.com, as the 2010 election cycle will soon reach a fever pitch. We're excited to be right in the middle of it.

In addition to more frequently updated content for the site, later this week we're rolling out VO.TE4.ME, a free URL Shortener tool for campaigns that want to optimize their social media message. Political campaigns and non-profit organizations that tap into Facebook, Twitter, and the like (and all of them should) understand that such short burst of information often limit their ability to convey a message, especially when linking to a long website URL. We know, it's not a new concept. TinyURL and Bit.ly have been doing this for a while. But we wanted to try something different: a politically-themed URL Shortener tool, complete with a developer API for embedding the service on external sites.

Here's a quick screenshot of the site:

You can head on over to vo.te4.me to try out the service. We've got a lot more in store for the next couple of months, so stayed tuned...
